Chandigarh Kidney Foundation (CKF) is a not-for-profit, Non Governmental Organization which came into existence in 2015 in Chandigarh (UT) by Dr. Priyadarshi Ranjan (Founder) who always felt immense pain and grief whenever he witnessed any critically ill Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patient's struggle for survival due to excruciating physical suffering and financially crippling aspect of the kidney ailment. Moved by the plight of such patients Dr. Ranjan decided to create a NGO to help these unfortunate souls with whatever meagre resources were available.
The mission of Chandigarh Kidney Foundation is to educate & raise awareness in general public about Kidney health and how best to maintain optimal kidney functioning, free check up camps for early detection of kidney problem, raise funds to sponsor financially weak patients and Organ donation drives through seminars, workshops, awareness programmes, online media and by publishing literature.
The foundation contemplates accomplishing this mission by the following objectives:
- To conduct Organ Donation drives to educate young minds and inspire them to pledge their organs incase of some mishap.
- To create awareness by conducting seminars/workshops in schools/colleges and other forums.
- To spread awareness regarding common ailments/habits/lifestyle which makes us prone to kidney diseases.
- To play an active role in re-habilation of kidney failure patients by promoting active fitness among post-transplant kidney patients.
- To raise funds for sponsoring financially weak patients.
